The Central West Region VAW/Child Witness Committee is proud to invite you for a day of learning and sharing with other VAW/Child Witness service providers

Dr. Jean Clinton will talk on the THE FIRST “R”: RELATIONSHIPS: Connection is the Key, The Adolescent Brain under Construction, with an emphasis on healing from relational trauma. It will offer a practical clinical focus, with concrete examples of ways to teach mothers and children about the impact of relational trauma on the brain, body and relationships, and how to use this information to promote growth and healing.

Dr. Ginette Lafrenière will present the findings from an extensive literature review on interventions with children who have witnessed violence and a research project entitled Child Witness Program Effective Practices Project: Central West Region.

This training will be most beneficial to those working as Child Witness Coordinators and Facilitators presently working with any of the Child Witness Programs in Central West Region (Dufferin, Peel, Halton, Waterloo, Wellington).
